Run an ELK layout pass on the current model canvas (source, Data Vault, Business Vault, dimensional, or execution map).
Choose the algorithm and spacing. Layout only moves boxes. It does not change metadata. Undo is available afterwards.
| Algorithm | Use it for |
|---|---|
Stress (relationship graph) |
Source models and other graphs full of cycles. Related cards cluster. Hubs sit near the middle. |
Force-directed |
The same kind of graph, with springs and repulsion. The picture can differ between runs more than Stress does. |
Layered (Sugiyama) |
Pipelines, workflows, and execution maps. The graph is ranked in one direction. |
Rectangle packing |
A compact grid of cards. Relationships do not affect the positions. |
On a source model the dialog opens with Stress when the saved default is still Layered. Pipelines and execution maps keep Layered. Save as default stores the choice for every graph that shares these options.
Browse
The source-model toolbar Browse centers one card and places its neighbors on a ring. Depth 1 is the direct relationships. Depth 2 adds a second ring. Edges on that outer ring are drawn only when they touch the center or the inner ring.
Click a neighbor to walk. Back returns to the previous card. Escape leaves browse and restores the scroll and zoom from before browse. Saved coordinates are not changed, and the model is not marked modified.
