Edit a dimension attribute, natural key, measure, or degenerate from the table dialog (Edit field…​ or double-click a row).

Field

Name, optional source field and SCD policy (attributes), additive flag (measures), and whether the field is required for later gap analysis.

Description is a short business meaning. Longer text belongs on the Notes and Requirements tabs.

Notes and Requirements (Markdown)

Both tabs are Markdown (CommonMark with tables, task lists, and footnotes). Use Edit for the source and Preview to see how it will render in project documentation.

  • Notes — definition, examples, caveats for analysts.

  • Requirements — source-to-target comments for the warehouse team (the old Excel mapping notes). Example: look up color_description in the codes table on color_code.

These fields are stored on the .hdm table. They do not generate load SQL yet.
