Data Hopper EDW
Design, generate, and operate an enterprise data warehouse from visual models: data catalog, source models, Data Vault 2.0, Business Vault, dimensional models, quality, and lineage. Model once. Generate loads and consumption layers.
Open source · Data Vault 2.0
We design and build the Hop plugins we wished existed: visual Data Vault 2.0, Business Vault, dimensional models, lineage, and a presentation engine. We also still ship a lot of Apache Hop itself. If your team needs architectural advice or software written in that stack, that is the work.
Data Hopper is a family of Apache Hop plugins and related engines, published by i-Bridge bv. They are not Apache Software Foundation releases. Install them from GitHub or from the community marketplace repository.
Design, generate, and operate an enterprise data warehouse from visual models: data catalog, source models, Data Vault 2.0, Business Vault, dimensional models, quality, and lineage. Model once. Generate loads and consumption layers.
Metadata-driven presentations and dashboards: server-side SVG layout, data connectors, a browser canvas editor, and print/PDF-capable output. A community alternative to older reporting stacks such as Pentaho Reporting and Jasper.
Generate PDF, HTML, Excel, CSV, and RTF from classic .prpt files inside
Apache Hop. The reporting engine is LGPL, so this plugin lives outside the ASF
release — for teams migrating from PDI who still need those reports.
A public Apache Hop Web demo. Sign in with SSO, open pipelines and EDW models
(.hsm, .hdv, .hbv, .hdm), and
file issues when something breaks. That is a useful outcome.
The test server at hop-web.data-hopper.com is a real Hop Web instance, not a marketing mock. Use it to evaluate Hop and the Data Hopper modelers. Feedback can go to apache/hop issues or to data-hopper@ibridge.be.
Open Hop WebMatt Casters started Kettle (Pentaho Data Integration) in the early 2000s and co-founded Apache Hop. In 2026 he opened over 200 pull requests on apache/hop — GUI, Hop Web, marketplace, transforms, tests, and docs.
Session isolation, SVG canvases, and the APIs that let EDW modelers run in the browser the same way pipelines and workflows do.
Install community plugins — including Data Hopper EDW — from GitHub or a Maven repository without unpacking zips by hand.
Database perspective, modeling UX, transforms, and the everyday fixes that keep Hop usable on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Apache Hop is a trademark of the Apache Software Foundation. Data Hopper is independent and is not an ASF product.
The plugins are the public proof. The paid work is helping teams design and deliver data platforms on that same stack — or writing the missing piece when the stack does not cover a specific need.
Data integration, Apache Hop and PDI migrations, Data Vault 2.0, Business Vault, dimensional warehousing, catalog, and lineage. Advice that is specific enough to implement.
Models, generated loads, quality gates, and Hop projects that a team can operate. The same patterns used in the retail example and the EDW plugin itself.
Hop plugins, reporting and presentation, marketplace packaging, or other work in these stacks when a company has a gap that configuration alone will not close.
